Q. Lifting procedures are said to look much more natural these days.
In the past, lifting was often seen simply as pulling the skin upward with strong energy. Today, however, it has become much more important to determine where, how much, and at what depth the stimulation should be delivered. Treatments have evolved toward delivering energy precisely to each skin layer, reducing unnecessary stimulation, and helping the skin recover on its own. As a result, the facial lines can be refined more naturally, and recovery has become much more comfortable. Recently, I have been using Density frequently. Because each patient has different skin thickness and texture, it has become much easier to adjust the treatment accordingly. Thanks to that, results are more natural, and the downtime that delays a return to daily life has also become shorter.
Q. A natural appearance after treatment is also important. What do you think determines that?
I believe the answer is “balance.” Devices provide precise data, but how that data is placed and applied depends on the doctor’s sensibility. Lifting is not simply a procedure that pulls the skin. It is a delicate sculptural process that restores light and shadow, as well as the flow of curves. Only when technology and sensibility come together can the impression of the face find its most natural harmony.
Q. You described lifting as a “delicate sculptural process.”
The skin is not just a single layer, but a structure in which multiple layers are interconnected. That is why lifting is not about pulling up the surface, but about restoring balance to a collapsed structure. It revives the skin’s natural texture lines and allows the flow of the face to connect naturally again. For example, Potenza and Density allow precise control of depth and intensity, which makes them very helpful in achieving “structure-restoring lifting.”
